[Back to main]

The purpose of this document is to help define what is and is not okay with in the Ex Umbris community and to help inform new and potential members of eXu about the vision that this guild is about. eXu as a guild does not want to be mired down in rules and regulations, however there are a few things that must be put down so that everyone has a common set of reference with which to work with.

Voice Chat: Voice chat will not be used for official guild events. You are free to use it with other guild members in a group etc but we have members that hate voice chat and therefore we will not be forcing it on them. If it become appearent that Voice Chat is required for Raiding this rule will be modified but only as far as voice chat is required and then only for listening purposes.

Behaviour: Members of eXu are expected to conduct themselves with dignity both in private guild communication and in public server communication channels. No begging, no racism, no explicit profanity, no heavy sexual innuendo, no direct flames. A well thought out rant that gives reasons why you are mad at someone is different to an illogical flame (you are allowed not to like people and not to group with them and you can even yell and scream about them in the privacy of your own home but keep it as civil as you can in game please).

Members of eXu are also expected to observe courtesy rules both in and out of guild groups. No Ninja Looting, no KSing, no Intentional Training, etc.

Trading of accounts, items, gold, etc for real world money is forbidden to members of Ex Umbris. This is a reason for instant guild removal.

Spelling, Grammar, and Leet: Please do your best to use full and proper English in guild communications. Game slang, abbreviations and acronyms are acceptable and even in some cases to be encouraged. Leet speak should be avoided at all costs. To temper this rule, please do not harp on people's accidental mistakes if they are in general following this rule, we all make mistakes and typos are a common occurrence.

Ex Umbris Guild Bank

Ex Umbris Guild Bank-Purpose

The purpose of the Guild Bank is to hold monies and items in trust for use by the guild Ex Umbris. Its function will be to promote and facilitate the desired financial goals of its membership in game. The Guild Bank is to have a multipurpose function, depending on in game capabilities. It is the Guild Leaderships goal to structure the Guild Bank in order to meet these requirements and functions.

Organization
There are to be two sections within the Guild Bank: the Crafters Bank and the Item Bank.

The Crafters Bank
The purpose of the Crafters Bank is to maintain a supply of resources for the use of the guild members during guild crafting events.

Donating to the Crafters bank
When a guild member offers resources to the Crafters Bank the bank officers will determine whether the resource is needed. If it is needed they will then accept the resource from the guild member for future guild use. The Bank Officers determination will be based upon the current and projected future needs of the guild. IE: Planned, guild sponsored, crafting events [ships, cities, houses, etc...] The amount of these resources maintained by the Guild Bank will follow closely with those same determinations. Any excess guild resources that have accumulated will first be offered to any crafter in the guild. If no one needs the material it will then be sold on the open market to raise guild funds.

Withdrawals from the Crafters Bank
Resources stored within the Crafters Bank are primarily for the use of guild crafters during sponsored guild events. They can also be withdrawn for approved crafting that is intended to benefit the guild at large or a specific member(s). Any withdrawal of material must be approved by the Crafters Bank officer(s) and must be for the benefit of the guild, not a "for profit" project that is intended to be sold on the open market.

The Item Bank:
The purpose of the Item bank is to hold items and money for the benefit of the guild as a whole.

Donating to the Item Bank
Any guild member may offer items or money to the guild bank. The bank officers will determine what is to be held/maintained in the bank vs. what is sold. All items that are not needed for future events or for use by members will be sold as quickly as possible, on the open market, after two weeks.

Withdrawals from the Item Bank
Any full member in good standing may request an item from the bank for a main character only . Use of the item must occur immediately (within reason). Once an item is donated to the guild bank the responsibility of distribution of that item rests solely with the bank officers. Requests must be done via the guild website in the bank forums. Once an item has been recorded on the guild website forums a request for that item by any full member must be posted on the item request thread. If there are multiple requests for the same item within a 24 hour period of being posted a process similar to the loot council for raids will be implemented to decide where the item will go. This process will be completed as soon as possible, hopefully within 48 hours. If however, after 2 weeks of being posted on the guild bank forum, an item has received no request for use by the membership, it will then be placed for sale on the open market for guild funds. No further requests for the use of that item will be considered once the item has been placed on the open market.

Bank Policies
Requests for withdrawal of guild monies will be reviewed by the bank officers. Only full members are eligible to request guild funds. Requests will be awarded based on the projected benefit to the guild as a whole. Guild monies are to be used to help the guild have fun in Vanguard.

All sales and purchases conducted from the guild bank will be recorded and updated as regularly as is possible. Transactions, itemized lists of items and coin will be found on the guild website in the Guild Bank thread.

The Bank Thread
This thread will be a full accounting of all guild assets maintained by the guild bank. This list will include all monies, items and resources, both stored and those listed for public sale. It will be updated regularly to show all transactions and remaining balances.

This listing will be viewable by all full guild members but will be accessible for posting only by the guild leader and appointed Guild Bank officers.

The Item Request thread
This thread will be for the official request, by full guild members only, for the use of a registered item in the guild bank. Once an item has been distributed by the guild officers to a guild member all requests for that item will be deleted. This will keep current the request listing. This thread will be open to all full guild members. No item requested from the guild bank may be sold for profit and it must be used immediately [within reason] by a main character only.

The intentional misuse of the Guild Bank or any of the threads by any officer or member will be taken very seriously by the Guild Leadership. Consequences can include removal from the guild.

The Ex Umbris Marketplace Boards

Purpose
The purpose of the Marketplace boards is to encourage members to donate their items to other members. We strongly encourage you to make use of these boards in order to help your guild by helping each other directly. This will have the effect of putting the items and resources where they do the most good...in the hands of members rather than collecting dust in the guild bank.

The following organizational threads will be established on the guild website for guild members to post loot items, raw resources and crafted items they have available to sell/trade/give away. These threads can also be utilized by members who are looking for resources/items to buy.

The Commissary:
This thread is for guild members who wish to advertise to sell or acquire raw-harvestable resources. It is for raw materials only, no finished items or dropped loot.

The Supply Depot:
This is where guild crafters can post what finished crafted goods are in stock for sale or trade. This thread will also be used to advertise for items needed and for members who wish to commission an item to be crafted.

The Exchange:
This is the place for loot. It is the thread where guild members can advertise to buy/sell/trade those treasures that are found rather than made.

Policies:
Each of the Marketplace boards will have a time limit of 2 weeks on all posts. This is intended to maintain a current listing and reduce clutter. Posts that are 2 weeks old will be deleted on a rolling basis (First in first out). If a post needs to stay up longer than two weeks it will need to be reposted. In this way we can be sure it is still current. (If it is a lengthy post you may want to save it in a word document and then just cut and paste it if you have to repost).

Please include your characters in game name if it is different from your forum name.

Please make it clear whether the items are for free, for trade or for sale. If you are trading or selling please make clear what you are looking for (trades) or what price you are asking (selling).

Guild Leadership will take responsibility for the maintenance, moderation and running of the Trade boards. Activities such as price gouging and or Abuse of these boards to harm the guilds membership will be dealt with quickly and severely. We will mediate in the event of disputes. However, we strongly believe you will all act with honesty in a courteous manner and so we do not expect the need for mediation to arise.

The movement of items due to transactions from these boards is the responsibility of the members involved. We strongly encourage you to make use of the mailing system in game. The guild leadership will not facilitate or complete these transactions. Only during guild sponsored construction events will Guild Leadership facilitate transactions and only if they are directly related to that event.
